I know there’s a lot of tension after Tumblr’s new policy annouced for December 17th, but reblog this if you aren’t leaving Tumblr so that other blogs can know they aren’t going to be completely alone!
Just what it says on the tin. This will save your posts and media – even reblogs – and your tags, but nothing else (likes, comments, notes). You’ll be able to browse it but not do much else. This gets you a static archive, not a new functioning blog, really. But it’s better than nothing.
1) Sign up for a free account at wordpress.COM, not .org!
2) After you create an account, choose the Free plan, then pick out a URL. The easiest thing to use is your tumblr URL or your URL with the word ‘archive’ after it. There will be several options, but at least one will be marked ‘free’ – pick that one. It’ll be at .wordpress.com or possibly .blog.home or something similar.
3) Verify your email address, then click Import on the bottom of the toolbar on the left.
4) Scroll down to ‘other importers’…
5) …and select Tumblr!
It will connect to your Tumblr account, and then give you a list of all your blogs. Click the Import button next to all the ones you want to import – if you pick more than one, it will dump all of them into this one archive blog, or you can create multiple ones.
It’s an imperfect solution, but just in case your shit gets blown up, at least you can dig up your old memes again.
I don’t have many followers so please spread this as much as you can!
Specifically the logo of the Overwatch League’s Houston Outlaws. I picked the icon out before I spun all my OWL-related blather over to @muma-mia, and haven’t gotten around to changing it yet.
fandom is so weird you never know how old anyone is but you just kinda assume most of them are around your age until proven otherwise and then one day someone is talking about their 9 year old kid on your dash and another person is saying they just finished 10th grade. wild.
reblog and tag with your age, so your mutuals know
Strongly encourage you to look around their website and social media – it’s incredibly heartwarming. Apparently they got a donation from the Fall Out Boy Fund because one of the owners was friends way back with Pete Wentz.
